Short Stories (Dec. 4, 1913)
* Elmer Huntington came up from Carrolton on horseback, Tuesday.
* Volney Van Atta returned from Oregon Friday evening, and says he had a mighty fine time while away.
* Captain Kruse said the Chester had a serious accident coming up the “creek,” Tuesday. Inquiry developed the fact that she had been “run over” by an N.P. train.
* While out in the woods recently, Warren Tucker stepped on a round stick, which turned, wrenching his ankle very severely. The ankle got better and Warren started to walking around without his crutches, with the result that he is worse crippled than ever.
K. of P. Will Entertain Old Men New Years
(Dec. 18, 1913)
The Knights of Pythias of Castle rock, Washington, will entertain on New Years day, at K. of P. Hall, from two to four p.m., the old gentlemen of Castle Rock and vicinity at a smoker. Old times and reminiscences will be discussed. All men of three score years and over are cordially urged to attend.
